The 122 TM is a Chinese tier 8 premium medium tank in the game World of Tanks. It is based on a real-life project that was developed by China in the 1970s, after capturing a Soviet T-62 tank during the border conflict in 1969. The T-62 had a significant impact on the design of the 122 TM, which featured a 120mm smoothbore gun, four anti-tank missiles, and a hydropneumatic suspension system. However, the project was canceled due to technical difficulties and low reliability. Instead, China developed other tanks based on the T-54/T-55 chassis, such as the Type 69 and Type 80.
