The Lorraine 40 T is a French premium medium tank that was developed in the 1940s as an experimental project. It features an oscillating turret, a suspension with air-core tires, and a pike nose armor. The design passed trials, but never entered mass production.
The Lorraine 40 T was introduced in World of Tanks as a tier 8 medium tank, and then moved to tier 9 in the Bat.-Châtillon 25 t line. It was replaced by the Bat.-Châtillon 25 t AP in patch 0.9.15.1, and returned as a tier 8 premium tank in patch 9.17.1.
The Lorraine 40 T is a support medium tank that can use its high speed and camouflage to flank the enemy and surprise them with its magazine-fed gun. The gun has four rounds in the magazine, each dealing 300 damage with standard APCR shells or 400 damage with high-explosive shells. The gun has good penetration and accuracy, but a long reload time between magazines. The Lorraine 40 T also has decent view range and signal range, making it a good scout and spotter for its team.
The main weakness of the Lorraine 40 T is its lack of armor. The hull and turret have very thin armor that can be easily penetrated by most enemies. The Lorraine 40 T also has a large profile and weak modules, making it vulnerable to artillery fire and module damage. The Lorraine 40 T relies on its mobility and stealth to survive, so it should avoid direct confrontations and use cover and concealment whenever possible. The Lorraine 40 T is best suited for open maps where it can use its speed and vision to outmaneuver the enemy.
